Carbon Sink! Is Your Home Saving the Environment?

Our partners at Hamill Creek Timber Homes have long been advocates for the use of wood in new home building. More than their passion and dedication to the style of construction, they consistently note that it is one of the most efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly styles of home construction available. Here is a blog they recently posted in regards to Carbon Sink:

Culinary Creations at Wing Creek Resort

It's no secret at Wing Creek that we are food and wine snobs ...ahem...connoisseurs. Our plans to add an outdoor kitchen and several rows of wine grapes is utterly self-serving. With that said I thought it was high time that I started sharing some of my knowledge and, more importantly, that of some of my friends' from the culinary world. Throughout my years in University, I worked in the restaurant industry and gained special appreciation for quality meals and exceptional wine. Here is a recipe and corresponding wine pairing that will send you straight to heaven:

Canada Day in Kaslo

We all had a great weekend celebrating Canada Day with all of the visitors and locals in Kaslo. Friday started with a bang, literally, as the fire department put on a fantastic fireworks display that lit up the sky and rang in Canada's 144th birthday. The Kaslo Visitor Centre had a number of activities throughout the day and the weekend also marked the beginning of something that we hope to have continue, the 1st Annual Kaslo Folk Festival. Wing Creek was spooted at the Saturday market selling our homemade jams, made from the organic fruit trees here on the property.

Working on Something Special

What sets Wing Creek Resort apart from any other waterfront community development? It was suggested by a couple of visitors that Wing Creek was special because we were doing it wrong! I should explain, community developments tend to have the same feel and structure. A community designed to look and feel appealing, but also maximize units and ensure the highest net return. This is often why it's difficult to tell one apart from another. Most of us have great views on stunning pieces of property, especially in the Kootenays with its stunning natural beauty.

Helping to Build One of Canada's Premier Waterfront Communities

Building a home is a challenging undertaking for even the most seasoned contractor. Building a community can be nearly impossible unless you have a strong team of dedicated professionals who recognize, appreciate, and share the passion you have for the vision.

Life in the West Kootenays, Kaslo, and at Wing Creek Resort

There is one question that get over and over again since I moved to the Kootenays... what do you do there???
